Polished concrete is considered a form of sustainable design flooring as it utilizes a material that has altready been placed.
Polished concrete is concrete that has been processsed through a series of mechanically ground "grinding and polishing" stages. During this process a "hardener/densifier" is applied which penetrates into the concrete and creates a chemical reaction to harden and prepare the surface for polishing.
Once the "hardener" is set a series of steps utilizing progressively finer diamond grinding tools is used on the concrete. The grinding tools are grits of industrial diamonds in a bonded material such as metal, ceramic, hybrid or resin often referred to as "diamond polishing pads"
There are many design effects of polished concrete. Dyes and stones designed especially for concrete polishing can be applied to add colour, texture, clarity and shine. Patterns can be formed by the way the direction and weight is applied by the polishing tools to create options such as scoring, radial lines, grids, borders and many other decorative designs.
Depending on your design needs, House Of Diamond offers a selection of Concrete Polishing services for Indoor, Outdoor, residential and Industrial floors.
